Episode 80 - Star Wars: The Last Jedi Was Bad Because of Russian Bots (Fact or Fiction?)

October 17, 2018

Welcome back to another Last Jedi Hatecast . . . just kidding. A news article recently popped up on Polygon talking about how a college student had done some "research" and discovered that Star Wars: The Last Jedi received so much hate because of Russian bots. They meddled in our elections, they attacked Bruce Willis, and now they're messing with Star Wars! When will the madness end? Just kidding. We actually didn't like Star Wars: The Last Jedi because it wasn't a good a movie. Are we allowed to say that on the Internet? Anyway, we dive into the article and discuss the changing landscape in film opinions. It seems you can't dislike anything these days without being called racist, homophobic, or ignorant. Will there ever be a day when we can return to film opinions without political axioms? We talk about this and more on the latest episode of Topicocalypse.
